piercings..

I have two musings about piercings.. I wonder about when ear piercings started.. how did parents react when thier girls got their ears pierced.. (I could, and will probably google that one) .. and secondly.. I wonder if the trend of multiple piercings would ever have started if parents hadn't gotten their girls' ears pierced when they were just babies. The girls wouldn't have taken for granted piercings, and would have gotten thier first ones as a teenager..
